How we build.
A walkthrough of how a house comes together — from deck to finish to delivery — and what's the same across every build we do.
Every house goes through the same five phases.
Whether it's a Custom, a Model, or a Shop build, the work in our building follows the same sequence. What changes is the starting design and how much of it you chose.
-
Phase 01Deck and shell
Floor assembly, wall framing, roof. We build on a rigid foundation every time — trailer or footings — and we don't skip the sheathing tape we'd still trust in a decade.
-
Phase 02Envelope
Insulation, vapor strategy, windows and doors. The envelope is where four-season performance actually happens. Our four-season spec adds a continuous rigid layer outboard of the studs so there's no thermal bridge through framing.
-
Phase 03Mechanical, electrical, plumbing
Heat source, electrical panel and runs, plumbing rough-in, ventilation. Everything gets tested before finishes cover it — no "we'll figure it out on site".
-
Phase 04Interior finish
Flooring, wall finishes, cabinetry, fixtures. Details the owner lives with day to day. We build the cabinetry ourselves when the budget allows; we order it pre-fab when it doesn't, and we're honest about which you're getting.
-
Phase 05Commissioning
Every system gets run. Heat cycles, water pressure, breaker trips, ventilation at spec. The house lives under power and water in our shop for at least a week before it leaves.
Delivery and site.
We coordinate transport with a hauler we trust. On site we handle the set — leveling, tie-downs, final connections. Site hookups — water, power, septic — are yours or your contractor's, but we're on the phone through the first week.
Trailer-mounted camps tow with a half-ton. Set homes go on a lowboy. Either way, we handle the logistics.
Leveled, anchored, sealed. A day for a camp; two to three days for a foundation-set home.
Systems get tested again once the house is hooked up. You get a walk-through, a binder, and our number.
Warranty and recraft.
Two-year comprehensive warranty on the full house. Lifetime on the structural envelope. Past that, we offer a recraft service — as the house ages, we can come back to refinish, renovate, or adapt it. Most of our customers we've known for a decade.
Same shop. Different starting points.
The craft is constant. The timeline, the commitment structure, and how much you get to decide are what change.
| Path | Timeline | Commitment | Flexibility |
|---|---|---|---|
| Custom | Timeline 6–18 months | Commitment Milestone payments, no online deposit | Flexibility Every decision is yours |
| Models | Timeline 14–26 weeks from deposit | Commitment Fixed deposit locks pricing and slot | Flexibility Pre-designed plan, finishes configurable |
| Shop | Timeline 8–12 weeks from deposit | Commitment Fixed deposit, shortest lead time | Flexibility Pre-built design, limited options |
